Trailer Magazine: Cutting Out Feature Picture

This is the picture I wanted to be on the front of my magazine.

I then had to cut out the background of my picture so that it would correctly fit in with my magazine background. To do this I had to select "Magic Eraser Tool". By doing this deleted all the background, leaving the picture roughly cut out.

After the picture was roughly cut out, I zoomed in and rubbed out all the rigid edges, making it smoother and when zoomed out in looked a lot neater.

After going round the whole of my picture and making it smooth and even, I copied it onto my magazine. This was the end result.

Trailer Magazine: Background

I wasn't completely sure what I wanted to do with my background of my magazine, so I played around with a few images, and decided that this was the image I liked the most. I also liked the mis en scene of the colours in this picture, as I thought the girly pink linked with the contrast of the dark black, showed a happy and dark side, just as it does in my trailer reflecting on Grace's life.

I then dragged the background out so that it would fit the back of my magazine.

This was my end result.

Trailer Magazine: Creating The Masthead

The first step I done when creating my masthead was uploading the correct font design "Arno Pro" and selecting the correct font size to fit on my magazine, 150.

This is what the "Cineaste" part of my headline looked like after I had made these adjustments.

I then fitted the correct font and size to "The" at the start of my headline.

This was the end result.

Trailer Magazine: Masthead Trial

Masthead Trial
The first thing I felt needed doing when I started on my trailer magazine was deciding on what I was going to call my magazine, in which I decided to call it "The Cineaste" which means someone who is very enthusiastic about the cinema or is into film making, so fitted in well with my magazine. I then went on to decide what font I could put my masthead in. From this, I went on and trialled some fonts and saw which one I preferred. In the end I decided on the top font on the picture which was "Arno pro". I decided on this font as I wanted my masthead to be quite naturalistic due to the genre my magazine and trailer were. However, I then went on to decide what font I wanted to put "The" in. I decided that as "Cineaste" was in a rather natural font, to do the "The" in a more handwriting font, in which would still make it slightly naturalistic but also give it a different and more exciting feel. I decided to go with number 3 on the picture below, this is as it looked "handwritten", was clear to read and also made my poster and masthead look extremely fancy and professional, which was my intention.

Trailer Poster: Credits

These are the credits that I have put on the bottom of my poster. This is just letting the audience know who is in the production and who directed/ edited it etc.

Trailer Poster: Tag Line

Next, I decided that my poster was to plain. So I thought about adding a tag line saying "Pain is real, but so is hope". This tag line I thought was extremely necessary and meaningful, as it links to my film so well.

I then decided to try out a few different fonts, as I wanted the tag line to be a little bit more bold, exciting and different than the headline.

I then decided to use the font "Benny Balnco" and the font size 32.

This was my end result of my tag line.
